Hailing from Juneau, Alaska, Barnacle Foods was founded by lifelong Alaskans Lia and Matt, who set out to share the incredible flavors of their home while helping protect the wild places they love. What began as a kitchen experiment has grown into a thriving small business crafting salsas, hot sauces, and seasonings that celebrate the Alaskan coast. Their secret ingredient? Wild-harvested kelp!
Why Kelp?
Kelp is having a well-deserved moment, and for good reason. It’s a nutritional powerhouse packed with vitamins, minerals, and that irresistible umami depth that brings dishes to life. But even more impressive is how sustainably it grows.
